We found this place on the internet a random search. We could not have been luckier, what a wonderful place to spend a week! Breathtaking scenery, it is truly the ultimate countryside experience in central Italy. We spent days by the pool, on the hammocks or travelling to Florence or Perugia. All of this topped by the warm hospitality of Ian, Karl, Paolo, Max and Jack. Thank you! We will recommend this place to all our friends.
Per molto tempo conserverò memoria del dolce orizzonte di queste verdi e azzurre valli; ondeggiando leggero sull’amaca ho lasciato che i tempo ancestrale di questi luoghi, colori, sapori mi si fissasse dentro gli occhi, dentro il cuore, dentro il respiro, nel mio corpo. Ne farò tesoro per i mesi che verranno e nei luoghi in cui sarò e sebbene lontano da qui, chiudendo gli occhi e fermando il tempo caotico della quotidianità, con un balzo felino della mia immaginazione sarà di nuovo in un istante qui con Ian, Karl, Paolo, Max e Jack. Who would have thought Eden would be a country house in Parrano, Umbria and the “God of kitchen & garden” to be an angel named Ian! We’ve fallen in love with Il Gallo Rosso, little Fabro, the dogs & cats and the whole of Umbria. We will be back to enjoy the house & pool again. Be afraid… be very afraid!

We arrived in a snowy winter wonderland to Ian, Karl, Max and Jack waiting for us at the gate. Three days/nights of warm Gallo Rosso hospitality followed. Thank you Ian, Karl, Sam, Tommy, Max and Jack for the laughs, delicious food and instant friendships! We will spread the word!

We planed our trip to Italy many months ago with lots of research into places to stay. What a stroke of luck our initial booking at another country home fell through. I found Il Gallo Rosso after more web searching and we are delighted to have stayed with you. You have all been such great hosts. You made us feel so at home and we are quite sad to be leaving. When the length of each day shortens and the days of winter are upon us, we will think on the wonderful time we had at Il Gallo Rosso in the late summer of 2004. In the blaze of the open fire with the snow swirling outside, we will ponder and reflect on the happy and warm days among the new friends we made. The hospitality shown to us was first class. Piatto delicato, da gustare in ogni periodo dell’anno. Adatto per cene romantiche e serate in compagnia.
Ingredienti fondamentali per la buona riuscita del piatto: 200 gr di campagna umbra; 150 gr di arte; 150 gr di tranquillità;.
Mescolate il tutto con fantasia australiana e lasciate marinare. Aggiungete romanticismo tedesco e chiacchiere trentine, fino ad ottenere un impasto uniforme ed infornate a temperatura variabile (a seconda della stagione) per il tempo che volete. Servite accompagnando il tutto con insalata di Max, Jack, Sam e Tommy. Si consigliano vini locali.
